Antique writing slope box, burr walnut veneer to outside, highlighted by a mother of pearl plaque and escutcheon. Ebonized finish to slope, cherry finish to compartments and brass fixings. Writing surface is blue velvet with decorative embossing bordered by black leather with gilt tooling.
In great condition for its age, small chip to veneer on front right corner, main damage is the split in the fabric across the center hinge, however both folding compartments still function fine. (see photos), lock is present but no key. Comes with brass capped glass inkwell. (see photos)
